Still posting from my phone. Saving in increments. Some reorganization to occur later.

GWEY began without fanfare as a place for a few friends that were between guilds and wanted a place to stay for a while. We didn't plan ahead for a day when we'd be fielding successful 25s without other guilds. I know I had no inkling of what was in store when they made me take guild lead.

That was then; this is today. Certainly things have changed, but thankfully some things have remained. GWEY's ranks have always been filled by friends and acquaintances that played well together, never by a quota or recruitment drive. This leads me to the first salient point of our new charter.

The question asked most often during the discussions that went into the upcoming changes was, "What kind of guild ARE we?" Certainly we feature some contradictions that defy the classic definitions of casual vs hardcore. I think that represents our STRENGTH, not some weakness in our identity, but I can see value in codifying it for clarity of intent.

GWEY is a guild formed by, of, and for people who enjoy all aspects of the game. This includes but is not limited to raiding, pvp, and achievements. As such it is the responsibility of leadership and members alike to ensure that our actions respect the interests of our fellows.

Thus, as leadership, by signing this we pledge to do our utmost to respect the goals of all members of the guild. We will do this by maintaining regular events such as raids for all to take part in, and providing more spontaneous activities. The guild as an entity will provide for raid repairs but cannot guarantee that day to day bills will be covered should the bank dip too low.

Members sign this with the understanding that we are human beings, and should be afforded some leniency in the pursuit of our duties.

Section Two: Raiding

Many of our members are interested in raiding. It is the most popular activity we offer as well as the most difficult to manage. As such, the catchword of Respect is all the more pertinent.

The raid organizers acknowledge and value the time commitment made by the raiders. If a given raid has not formed satisfactorily by 30 minutes from start time, an alternative will be offered to those present. If that is not to the liking of the group, the raid will be called.

In the event that a raid is more successful than expected, and finishes the allotted content more than 30 minutes before raid end, we will move to another instance for the remainder of the scheduled time. This should not infringe on the next scheduled raid's content, unless doing so would afford it a chance to progress further than one night would allow.

The raiders agree that in return for their repairs (and hopefully more in the future) being covered by the guild, ALL bind on equip gear will be sold at auction.

Raid specific crafting mats will be sold at auction initially as the price will be unsustainably high, then offered to the guild on a sliding scale. A reasonable price will be set and guildies will purchase the items in groups according to how many are needed per item. Purchasing will occur as follows:
Raiders decide on a percentage of the set price that they would like to pay, which may be as low as 50 percent of the asking price, but no higher than 100 percent. Raiders send an in game mail to the materials officer (currently me) with the totality of what they are willing to offer. Materials are then handed out in order of who pays the most, as well as time of submission. Early orders of the full asking price are the first to be served, but later orders paying more will still trump earlier, lower requests.
